Hello All,
This is my first time blogging and I thought I would start as an alternative to therapy. I currently have a job in which I have no fun, am not engaged, and feel that it is not a very good fit for me at all. I am an outside sales rep. There are not really any aspects of the job that I enjoy. The travel is a drain, there is no formal training or education, and finally there is little to no career progression. I am in my mid-twenties and feel very lost; I have taken and completed a business administration program and am starting a similar program focused on marketing communications. What I am more frustrated with than anything else is the fact that once you are in sales you seem to be labeled for life as a "salesmen"!!! I would love nothing more than to transition into the marketing field which I find fascinating. challenging, and intriguing. What I need is a plan, a plan in which I can focus my efforts on re-building myself to make a career change.
What I have done so far:
- Enrolled in a Marketing Communications program
- Researched marketing, communications, and advertising companies local to me
- Researched various marketing associations
Any suggestions as to what I need or should be doing?
